Solo, Paintings by Mary Louise O'Connell
For Immediate Release:

Ridgefield Guild of Artists
34 Halpin Lane
Ridgefield, CT 06877

Ridgefield, CT May 16, 2009- The Ridgefield Guild of Artists happily announces the opening of Solo, an exhibit by Guild member, Mary Louise O’Connell. An avid painter, O’Connell will exhibit a series of her most relevant works focusing on the internal process of the medium.

As an artist who is, “happiest when I’m putting paint on canvas” and who often gets lost in the process”, O’Connell works primarily with oil paints. Often choosing domestic and personal landscapes, the artist seeks “to represent everyday objects with an air of mystery.” In addition to her subject matter, O’Connell is fascinated by the correlation between writing and painting, especially when it comes to revising and revising to get to the finished product. The upcoming Solo definitely presents a thought-provoking portrait of both artist and artwork.

Opening Saturday May 16,2009 with a reception from 5-7pm, Solo will run from for a full month in the Upstairs Gallery at The Ridgefield Guild of Artists, 34 Halpin Lane. The exhibit will be open during regular gallery hours, Weds- Sun 12-4pm Check out www.rgoa.org for further details.
